Utilife Orders
How to take and manage phone orders
Utilife Orders is a self-ordering and order-queue app for small food shops: customers order from their own phone (by shared link or optional QR) and the owner or a helper manages each order on a live board. It does not process payments - the seller collects directly, their way.
- 1
Build your menu
On the Dashboard, tap Utilife Orders. Tap Set up food shop, enter your food shop name, then complete setup.
On the menu page, tap + Add item. Enter the Item name and Price.
You can also choose a Category (optional) and add a Description (optional). Tap + Add item again to save.
Use Edit or Remove on each item. Set Available, Sold out, or Hidden as needed.
- 2
Open for orders
Find the Customer ordering link on the Utilife Orders dashboard. Share the link with customers or print it as an optional QR code.
Tap ○ Paused. Tap to resume. Once it's open, the button turns into ● Accepting orders. Tap to pause.
On their phone, the customer selects items and taps Review order. After checking, they tap Place order.
- 3
Start incoming orders
On the Utilife Orders dashboard, tap Kitchen board. New orders appear in the New tab as Placed.
Check the items, customer note, and total. Tap Start to accept the order and move it to Preparing in one tap, or Reject if you can't prepare it.
An unpaid order that isn't accepted within 15 minutes automatically becomes Expired.
Each order has a short order number, like
#A47. Use it when there's no nickname or table number. - 4
Run the kitchen board
Tap Start once to accept a Placed order and move it directly to Preparing.
When it's ready, tap Mark ready. The customer also sees that their order is ready.
Once you've handed it over, tap Mark served. It moves to the Done tab.
